How to Handle Back Pain

Almost everyone suffers from at least one episode of Back pain during his or her life. When your back hurts, it can feel almost impossible to function properly, because any movement may cause searing pain. Most back pain subsides within a few weeks, but in the meantime, there are several things you can do for relief.

Pain medication, such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen, can be very helpful in alleviating the pain, at least to the point where you can move without being in agony. Applying ice to the afflicted area can also be helpful. Although it may feel uncomfortable, it is important to keep moving. Walking and light exercising can help your back feel better. Some people feel that chiropractic adjustments are helpful, and some even rely on acupuncture.
