Firewalls can be a pain sometimes. I have had windows xp for three years now. I have logged on and never had to put in a password. I spent two hours last night trying to figure out why. I called my son in California and asked him how to bypass windows xp password so I could get on. I was lucky he knew what I was talking about. He told me to x out of everything. I was then to restart the computer. This would clear most of the crap I had been doing before I called him. Once the desktop came up I was to go to control panel and click on users. I then had to go in and change the administer user account. I signed myself up as the administer and left the password blank. My husband must have put his name in that user account. He thinks he has to be the boss of everything. Sure enough I asked him when he got home and he had added a new account with him as the main administer to the computer.
